LAURYN VANIA KURNIAWAN

Lauryn Vania Kurniawan is an Indonesian composer based in Los Angeles, working across film, games, animation, and multimedia projects. Her work blends cinematic orchestral writing with modern and culturally rooted textures. Some of her credits include Kaghati, a CTA Emmy Award–nominated short film, as well as scoring for a documentary released by BBC Reel. She has also collaborated on projects connected with organizations such as Sony Music, the BBC and Garuda Indonesia. In 2022, she produced and composed music for the first Indonesian Gamelan concert in Hong Kong alongside the Indonesian Consulate General, Hong Kong Baptist University and National Bank of Indonesia (i.e. BNI Bank Nasional Indonesia). 

 

She works as a composer’s assistant to Stewart Mitchell at Bleeding Fingers Music, the studio founded by Hans Zimmer. Contributing within a large-scale studio scoring environment, her recent work includes involvement on projects such as Apple TV’s Chief of War, BBC Asia, Minecraft: Superman DLC, the Los Angeles Clippers theme, and Netflix’s Exterritorial. In parallel with her studio work, Lauryn writes music for established production music libraries including Extreme Music and KPM Music.

 

Lauryn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master’s degree in Music Technology from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
